Cumbria Ore Mine Rescue Unit are a Mountain Rescue Team specialising in rescues from old mine workings, mainly in Cumbria.  For hundreds of years Cumbria has been worked for the minerals beneath it's surface.  Cumbria has been the home to the mining of iron, lead, copper and slate in past centuries, and today there are a only a small number of slate and iron workings still in production.
